A performance piece- A white house candle symbolizing what will come if Donald Trump is elected president in 2016. The orange lighter symbolizes him, and all of the democratic norms he is to burn if given the seat in the Oval office. Writing this in 2025, this piece of art has been prescient to say the least. As his second term begins, as our allies abandon us, our civil liberties are squandered, and our democracy is replaced with a sort of totalitarian corporate oligarchy, I think often of this burning candle. What it meant then, now, and what it will mean for the unwritten history yet to come.
